Iran Press/America: Representatives from 164 countries elected 66-year-old Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the new director-general of the World Trade Organization, the agency said in a statement on Monday.
Iweala also said in a statement that his top priority is addressing the economic and health consequences of the coronavirus outbreak and "implementing the policies needed to restart the global economy."
Iweala has a background in the Nigerian Ministry of Finance and has worked for the World Bank for 25 years. She has the dual US and Nigerian citizenship. 219
