Iran Press/ Iran news: Addressing the attendees of the international 'Khorsheed (Sun) Media Festival' on Monday, Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi said: "Today, Westerners exploit the issue of defending women's rights only as a tool to pressure independent countries; they are not in favor of women's rights and human rights, because a long list of human and women's rights violations is observed in the Western societies."
The West, the US in particular, deploy their media empire to express the facts in a distorted form, suppress accurate and real news, and promote modern ignorance among the world's nations, Raisi noted.
Raisi recalled that the West ignored the Palestinian nation's rights for 70 years, and left nothing but murder and demolition in Afghanistan after 20 years of invasion.
Iran's President pointed to the West's desecration of the Islamic sanctities, including the Holy Quran, under the pretext of freedom of expression, emphasizing: "Today, Westerners desecrate the most sacred divine book, calling their shameful action freedom of expression while such actions are against freedom of expression, thought and humanity."
The First International Khorsheed Media Festival kicked off in Mashhad, northwestern Iran, on Saturday with the presence of the Iranian President's wife and female journalists from nearly 40 countries.
The Festival with the slogan "Women enlighten" is planned in memory of Shireen Abu Akleh, the martyr of enlightenment.
Women's issues, including the role of women in social justice, family, women, and resistance media, the correct role model of women, and the role of the media in normalizing violence against women are among the topics discussed. 219
