Tehran (IP) - The Head of Student Affairs Department of Iran's Ministry of Science said the ministry is ready to grant scholarships to the American students dismissed from the US universities during the pro-Palestinian rallies in the country.

Iran PressIran news: The American student protest movement began on April 17 at Columbia University in New York; the protesting students called on the university to cut off its relations with the Israeli institutions involved in the war on Gaza.

Hashem Dadashpour said on Monday that the students expelled from American universities due to their protest against the Israeli regime's genocidal war on Gaza can enjoy scholarships to study in Iranian universities in any field they want, given the Iranian universities' growing ranks in the world.

He called the US police's violent treatment of the American students a scandal against the freedom of expression slogan the West trumpets. 

Support for the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip under the Israeli war along with the protests against the policies of the US administration have been started by different groups of students in American universities across the country. 

The US police have so far arrested more than 1,500 students in the universities.

The Israeli unprecedented genocide of the Palestinian people began on October 7, as the result of which over 34,730 people have so far been martyred and over 78,100 others have been wounded, besides the Gazans' struggling with famine and starvation created due to the war. 204
