Rouhani added: "All countries and governments should be aware that they cannot overcome these sensitive conditions without the help, cooperation and benefit of each other's experiences."
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said to his French counterpart Emanuel Macron on Monday 6 April that launching the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchange (INSTEX) is a positive step but insufficient, emphasizing that the mechanism should not be limited to medical supplies and foodstuff; rather it must be used for meeting all the country's needs.
Fighting the virus under the US inhuman sanctions for Iran is harder than the other countries, Rouhani said, noting that the US government has not only violated international law by imposing sanctions on Iran but also breached 2005 World Health Organization's hygienic regulations.
Iranian President also welcomed the UN secretary general's initiative to declare ceasefire among the conflicting countries due to coronavirus outbreak across the world, hoping that the initiative would also include the economic war against Iran.
He noted that Friendly states are expected to pressure the US into lifting cruel and unilateral sanctions against Tehran under the current situation
Rouhani said: "We are ready to return to our nuclear commitments if all sanctions are lifted," emphasizing that "the lifting of sanctions and the fulfillment of commitments by Europe is a necessity, and in these special circumstances it has become important more than ever."
