Iran Press/ America: The Oregon Attorney General filed a lawsuit against the federal government on Saturday over the illegal detention of anti-racism protesters in the state.
The lawsuit declares that federal officials violated the Fourth and Fifth Amendments to the United States Constitution by detaining people without due process.
The Attorney General of Oregon, in a statement condemning the brutality of the US police, stressed that the repression of American protesters should be stopped as soon as possible.
According to the report, in recent days, federal officers forcibly detained protesters on the streets in unmarked vehicles and took them without explanation. The federal government claims it is trying to restore order to the city.
Connecticut Democratic Senator Chris Murphy and Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in the US Senat, on Sunday, following the escalation of anti-racism protests in Portland, they opposed the existence and use of secret police in the United States and called for its dismantling.
Various US cities, including Portland, have been the scene of demonstrations since May 25 against the racist behavior of the police.
On Monday, May 25, a white US police officer killed George Floyd, a black American citizen in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This crime has angered the American people. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.
Thousands have been injured during protests in recent weeks in the United States.
