Mikhail Ulyanov in his tweet stated that last week the first committee of the UN General Assembly had voted on a draft resolution in support of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
Russian Diplomat said: "173 countries voted in favor of the draft, three abstained, and North Korea and the United States opposed it."
The US government is expected to re-test its nuclear weapons and expand its nuclear arsenal.
It is estimated that the US has more than 7,000 nuclear warheads.
