Tehran (IP)- The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council met with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in Tehran and expressed concerns over the use of terrorism by the United States and Israel to create the crisis in the region.

Iran PressIran News: During the meeting, Ali Akbar Ahmadian emphasized that military aggression and harsh sanctions cannot deter Syrians from resisting the tyranny imposed by their enemies.

He specifically referenced a recent terrorist attack in the Sayyidah al-Zainab area of Damascus as evidence of potential efforts by the US and Israel to revive terrorist groups in Syria.

Ahmadian further stated that Washington is attempting to disrupt the de-escalation process in Syria through military actions and controlled conflicts, aiming to maintain an illegal and illegitimate presence in the country.

He argued that these actions demonstrate how the US continues to assert itself as a significant actor in Syria.

In response, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad condemned the illegal presence of US military forces in Syria, considering it a violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Mekdad also accused the US of seeking to revive terrorist cells to prevent stability within Syria.
