US assassination of Lt.Gen. Soleimani raise anger regionally, internationally: Larijani

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Parliament Speaker said hatred and outrage have risen against the US government in the region and in the world even in the US itself after the assassination of Lt.Gen. Soleimani.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking in the open session of the parliament on Tuesday 7th January, Iranian speaker of the parliament Ali Larijani said that the mourning of people in Iraq, Iran as well as other countries such as Lebanon, India, Nigeria, Yemen, and even in the US indicates the rage of people against the US which mean a 'no' to the US' plundering of the region's resources and warmongering.

He said that when the US has not yet comprehended the realities so when Trump announced the assassination of  Lieutenant General Soleimani, he proved the fact that the US is interested in terrorism.

The Speaker referred to the US' threatening Iran's cultural points, and noted that destructing Iran's civilization symbols would not lead to the destruction of their identity, for it is in their spirits.

Larijani made the remark that the assassination of Lieutenant General Soleimani brought the region to a new phase, such that Iraq's Parliament decided to expel the US forces, an act which was answered by the possible imposition of the US sanctions against the Iraqi nation.

"The US that claims advocacy of human rights openly announces that either let me kill everybody I want or I put sanction on you," he added.

Larijani appreciated the significant presence of the Iranian nation in the commemoration of martyred lieutenant General Soleimani and called on the parliament's National Security Commission to seriously pursue the case of the US assassination of the late Lieutenant General.

After Larijani's speech, the lawmakers stood, chanting anti-US slogans. 104/219
