Tehran (IP) - The United States has accepted the issue of verification of the lifting of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran and providing Iran with the necessary guarantees in this regard, A parliamentarian said on Tuesday.

Iran PressIran news: Iran’s Supreme National Security Council convened yesterday evening, discussing the issue in detail.  Following the meeting, Iran’s top negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani wrapped up Tehran’s final response to the EU proposals.

Iran’s conclusion is a complete package, regarding the economic guarantees Washington must provide to assure Tehran of fully benefitting from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA). 

The spokesperson of the National Security Commission of Iran's Parliament Abolfazl Amouei said, "In the Vienna negotiations, the American side has accepted the issue of verification of the lifting of sanctions and providing guarantees, and Iran's peaceful nuclear capabilities will remain intact."

The Vienna talks resumed on August 4 after several months of impasse, and expert-level negotiations were held between Iran and the P4+1 group of countries.

In 2015, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany reached a nuclear deal with Iran to address the crisis around its nuclear program. In 2018, then-US President Donald Trump decided to pull out of the agreement, with Washington slapping its most sweeping sanctions on Tehran. The current occupant of the Oval Office, Joe Biden, has repeatedly indicated his support for reentering the nuclear deal.

Since last April, Russia, the UK, Germany, China, the US, and France have been discussing with Iran in Vienna reviving the JCPOA in its original form.
