Iran Press/America: Israeli warplanes targeted residential houses near the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent in the center of Rafah city on Monday morning. As a result of this attack, at least one hundred Palestinians were killed and more than 230 others were injured.
News sources announced that the number of martyrs and wounded in this attack is still increasing.
Currently, about 1.4 million people out of a total of 2.3 million residents of the Gaza Strip are in Rafah.
Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths said Palestinians in Gaza were already suffering an "assault that is unparalleled in its intensity, brutality and scope".
The consequences of an invasion of Rafah would be "catastrophic", he said.
Al-Azhar University also issued a statement condemning the Zionist regime's attack on Rafah and warned about the possibility of an unprecedented humanitarian disaster as the international community remains silent.
In this regard, South Africa has asked the International Court of Justice to use its powers to prevent the violation of Palestinian rights in Rafah due to the Zionist regime's intention to expand military operations in this city.
Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7, killing at least 28,473 and wounding 68,146 others. The death toll in Israel from the October 7 Hamas attacks stands at 1,139. 219
