The UAE president's diplomatic adviser is traveling to Iran today, and according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, he will deliver Trump's letter to Iranian leaders.

Why it matters:
Trump recently stated he sent a letter to Iran's leader, urging either negotiation or preparation for military action.

The big picture:
Trump's announcement sparked media speculation regarding the letter and Tehran's potential response. On Wednesday, Iran's top diplomat said that while Trump wrote a letter, Iranian officials haven't received it.
Now, following the Iranian foreign minister's remarks, a foreign ministry spokesman says that UAE presidential advisor Anwar Gargash is on his way to Tehran to deliver the letter to Iranian leaders.

Key points:
Anwar Gargash will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on the trip.

Previously, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who traveled to Abu Dhabi recently to participate in the Iran-UAE Political Consultation Committee, met with Gargash.
