Turkish fighter jets attack on northern Iraq

Media sources reported that at least eight people were killed and wounded in a Turkish fighter attack on Sinjar in northern Iraq.

Iran PressMiddle East: Turkish attacks on the mountainous areas of northern Iraq have resumed since the July 2015 violation of the ceasefire agreement between Ankara and the PKK.

Turkish fighter jets bombed areas in the northern Iraqi province of Nineveh on Tuesday evening under the pretext of suppressing elements of the Turkish Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which considers them a terrorist group.

In these attacks, one of the Yazidi refugee camps was targeted, and at least eight people were killed and injured.

The Iraqi presidency recently condemned Turkey's aggression in northern Iraq, stating that the Turkish army's repeated attacks on Iraqi territory are a serious violation of Baghdad's sovereignty and a clear violation of international law and contrary to neighborly relations.
