Iran Press/Iran news: On the sideline of Wednesday cabinet session, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Ali Asghar Mounesan commented on Iran's missile attack on US airbases saying: "As our Leader and President have said before, the response will be resolute and we thank our armed forces because they have demonstrated Iran's strength and power."
He further referred to US President Donald Trump's recent claim that he will attack cultural sites of Iran, adding: "We need to see what Trump means by saying that. If it is a cultural heritage that is in violation of international resolutions and he is unlikely to do so since history tells us no one has ever targeted Iran's cultural sites before."
In a statement released in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that a US airbase in western Iraq has been hit with 'tens of missiles'. Another US airbase in northern Iraq was also targeted by Iranian missiles.
The attack came in response to a US terrorist strike days earlier that martyred the former Commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.
