Tehran (IP) - The Iranian foreign minister announced holding a joint meeting of the convicts' committee after five years between theTehran-Ankara.

Iran PressIran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan Today (Sunday). 

Amir-Abdollahian enlisted the various fields for Tehran-Ankara cooperation, including trade, economics, faculty exchange, and energy.

Iranian diplomat urged the two sides' efforts to update preferential trade documents. 

Iran's Amir-Abdollahian says the target volume of economic exchange between the two countries is 30 billion euros and now we are halfway there, adding that the two countries have much more capacity for bolstering ties. 

"We agree on updating the preferential trade document. Our transit routes are complementary between Türkiye and Iran and not a factor of competition," he added.

Amir-Abdollahian added: "Today, we had long but effective and fruitful discussions. We are very happy that the agreements between the two presidents are moving forward and on the path of progress."

Developments and social crises increase Iran- Türkiye ties

The Turkish foreign minister said in the joint presser with his Iranian counterpart that social crises and developments add to the importance of Tehran-Ankara ties.

Security of the joint borders, counter-terrorism, transportation, business, border trade, agriculture and transportation, and energy were the other key terms of discussion between the two sides, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.    

Regarding the issue of Syrian people, Fidan said that Syrian citizens would return to their country safely. 

Elsewhere the Turkish diplomat stated his country's strong will to fight against terrorism. 

On the violation of the Islamic sanctities, Fidan said that the Iranian and Turkish sides have discussed such issues. 

Turkish Foreign Minister also expressed satisfaction with the Ryadth-Tehran rehabilitation of ties.

Hakan Fidan said: "There are deep historical ties between Iran and Türkiye. After the earthquake in Turkey, Iran showed its sympathy with Turkey for which we are grateful."

"We strengthen our bilateral relations through the Supreme Cooperation Council," he noted, adding: "As mentioned, we want to increase regional cooperation within the framework of common interests, and we expressed our expectations from each other."
