Tehran (IP) - The first international conference on Iran's rail transport capacities kicked off in Tehran with the participation of Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Iran PressIran news: Participating in the one-day meeting, some Iranian international rail transport companies present their services and capabilities for international transport and transit from Iran to the countries taking part in the event.

Iran is one of the shortest, safest, and most cost-effective routes for rail transit from East to West, especially for transporting cargo from landlocked countries in Central Asia to Europe, and India.

Iran enjoys important international north-to-south and east-to-west rail corridors that pass through the country and also connect the railway network to open waters.
