Iran Press/ Africa: Minister for Health Ummy Mwalimu said the five regions located close to Uganda have porous border entries that could provide loopholes for people with the disease to get into the country unnoticed.
"Until now there is no reported case of Ebola in the country," said Mwalimu, adding that the government has dispatched mobile laboratories in various locations to ease the testing of samples for patients suspected or showing symptoms of Ebola.
She directed the regions to urgently prepare contingency plans, including public health emergency and rapid response teams in readiness for any eventuality.
Mwalimu also directed authorities in all Tanzania mainland regions to get prepared by allocating isolation points and burial places in case there was an outbreak of the disease.
Uganda on Sept. 20 announced the outbreak of the rare Sudan Ebola strain after a 24-year-old male tested positive for the disease after being admitted to hospital.
