The Syrian air defense units successfully thwarted a militant drone assault targeting both military and civilian installations within the Hama governorate, as per reports from the state-run SANA news agency, which cited the Syrian Ministry of Defense.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Syria's air defenses intercepted a swarm of kamikaze drones deployed by terrorist groups. The Syrian forces managed to destroy seven such aircraft before they could reach their intended targets in government-held territories," the statement read.

The Syrian military force stated that these unmanned aerial vehicles originated from a mountainside region under insurgent control in neighboring Idlib province.

Additionally, according to the independent news outlet Al Modon, at least 25 Syrian troops and 47 civilians, among whom six were minors, lost their lives during attacks carried out by the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist organization, now proscribed in Russia, in northern Syria throughout 2023.
