Swedish authorities have apologized for the attack on the Iranian embassy in Stockholm and emphasized their commitment to maintaining the security of the embassy and its employees under the Vienna Convention.

Iran PressEurope: The temporary chargé d'affaires of the Iranian embassy in Sweden announced that the Swedish deputy for international affairs and the general director of ceremonies while apologizing for the attack on the Iranian embassy and one of the employees in Stockholm, emphasized Sweden's commitment to maintaining and ensuring the security of the embassy and its employees as it is emphasized under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. 

Swedish police arrested five individuals involved in illegally entering the territory of the Iranian embassy and attacking one of the staffers.

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian called on Sweden to protect diplomatic missions after an employee of the Islamic Republic's embassy in Stockholm was assaulted earlier this week.

Talking on the phone with the temporary charge d'affaires of the Iranian embassy, the foreign minister discussed the developments in the situation, and he urged that the Swedish government commit to the Vienna Convention obligations regarding securing diplomatic envoys.

Detailing the incident the top diplomat, Mohammad Ahmadi said: “Soon after the unlawful act outside the embassyو a strong complaint in Tehran and Stockholm was transferred to the Swedish side, stressing the need for identifying and punishing the perpetrators of the attack." 219
