IP - On Thursday evening, in a telephone conversation with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi praised the initiative and brave action of the South African government in filing a complaint against the Zionist regime at the International Criminal Court.

Iran PressIran News: Stating that the Zionist regime and its supporters are looking for a deviation in the handling of this case, the President clarified, “Human society and all nations expect from this court the execution of justice and the issuance of a verdict condemning the criminal Zionist regime.

“This action by a country that has experienced the bitterness of racism and genocide for years, is honoured and admired not only in the Islamic world, but also by all the free and freedom-loving nations of the world,” President Raisi told his South African counterpart.

President Raisi announced the firm support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to this courageous action of South Africa and added, “This action will establish your name Mr Ramaphosa alongside the name of Nelson Mandela as an anti-racist and justice-seeking personality in the world during the period of inaction of international organisations”.

The President also referred to the will of the officials of the two countries to further promote relations and emphasized the use of various mutual capacities to expand cooperation in various political, economic, and science and technology fields to higher levels.

Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of South Africa, also stated in this telephone conversation that the Islamic Republic has always stood by the South African nation as a true and reliable friend in difficult times, adding, “We are very pleased to see influential and peace-loving countries like the Islamic Republic of Iran support the Palestinian people and want to fulfil their rights”.

The President of South Africa described the opposition of some countries that support the Zionist regime as ineffective in his country's will to fight against the genocide and crimes of the Zionist regime.

“These countries have always had a hypocritical and deceitful approach in international relations, but in the terrible disasters in Gaza, their true face is revealed and the nations of the world have realized that they do not care about human lives,” He added.
