Iran Press/ Africa: A group of students from Tehran universities will welcome the African Shia leader.
Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky is a Shia cleric and the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, who converted to the Shi'a religion under the influence of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the Late Imam Khomeini (RA), and established 300 Islamic schools in Nigeria and its neighboring countries with the establishment of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.
Zakzaky has also set up charitable institutions to provide financial, medical and educational services to Shi'as.
The Shi'a leader of Nigeria was arrested and imprisoned during the attack of the army of this country on Hosseiniyeh Baqiyatallah (AS) in the city of Zaria in 2015.
After six years of house arrest and prison, he and his wife were acquitted of all charges and released on July 28, 2021.
