Iran Press/ Middle East: At the ceremony, the participants stressed that the commemoration of the Resistance's martyrs shows the emphasis on the loyalty to the self-sacrifice of those who served the resistance axis throughout the world.
A Yemeni activist Mohammad al-Abed told Iran Press News Agency that the ceremony was a strategic occasion that should be continued in the Arab and non-Arab countries.
He noted that the ceremonies should be held on the scale of such personality as Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani because he was the symbol of the sacrifice of martyrs whose plan was to confront global arrogant powers.
On the occasion of the 3rd martyrdom anniversary of Lt. Gen. Soleimani and his companions, commemoration ceremonies were held in different parts of the West Asian region, including Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and Yemen.
General Soleimani and his companions were highly popular because of their key role in eliminating the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.
It was on January 3, 2020, at 01:20 in the morning when lt. Gen. Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units' (PMU) Second-in-Command Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport, authorized by the former US President Donald Trump.
General Soleimani was assassinated by the US while he was in Baghdad at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.
