Iran Press/ Iran news: This lake, which is located in the central desert of Iran between Isfahan, Semnan, and Qom provinces, with a length of 80 km and a width of 30 km, is about 795 meters above sea level (MASL) and is the largest salt lake in the country.
The Salt Lake is located 48 km northeast of Aran and Bidgol city and is bounded on the east by Sefidab and Siah Kooh mountains and National Park of the desert, on the north and west by Masileh Desert and on the south by the Maranjab Desert and Band-e Rig.
The lake is covered with salt deposits that have formed over the centuries as floods and surface water have accumulated, and the lake's salt depth varies between 5 and 54 meters squares, separated by layers of clay.
Sargardan Island is one of the most scenic parts of the lake and the most important ingredients of this lake are sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, and more than 90,000 tons of salt is extracted from this lake annually.
