Tehran (IP) - Iran's Road and Urban Development Minister stressed that Iran and Turkmenistan have a wide border range in the transport and transit sector, with the country's capacity being more than 12 million tons on just Sarakhs and Incheporon routes.

Iran PressIran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the meeting between the National leader of the Turkmen People with Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi on Tuesday, Mehrdad Bazrpash said: "The use will be minimal, Iran and Turkmenistan agreed to increase the cargo transportation through Sarakhs and Inchebron."

Mehrdad Bazarpash told Iran Press: "Turkmenistan and Iran have a cultural affinity and an old civilizational history."

He said: "The economy of both sides has improved and a new customs border is going to be established in some of our northern provinces, which has been agreed to be followed in the first joint commission."

He further added: "In the port area, it was decided to provide more suitable services to Iranian vessels, and in the air section, the airlines of both sides will benefit from the opportunities to develop relations."

Referring to partnerships in the field of energy, he said: "Good negotiations and agreements have been made in energy, gas export, and agriculture fields."

The National leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People’s Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow met the Iranian President on May 30, 2023.
