Red Crescent helping 2 million unemployed in Corona crisis: Official

Tehran (IP) - Acting Chief of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Karim Hemmati said many people, including daily-paid workers, have had livelihood problems in the Corona crisis. The Red Crescent will clearly distribute financial donations to those in need over the coming days.

Iran PressIran News: Karim Hemmati, speaking at a news conference on Friday via video conferencing, noted that the Red Crescent has been stood by the Ministry of Health, universities of medical sciences and crisis management since the beginning of the crisis, and has been providing services with the help of donators and volunteers.

He underlined that the corona crisis is not over yet and in this crisis, many vulnerable people have been pressured and failed to do their jobs, including the sellers and daily-paid workers have had livelihood problems, the Red Crescent is serving these loved ones and in the coming days, we will raise funds and provide to our compatriots who have been affected by the crisis and lost their jobs.

Powerful governments have failed to control the disease, said Hemmati, noting but we were able to manage the disease under sanctions in Iran. However, there may be no way to manage the disease alone by the governments. So We are announcing an account in the coming days and we want people to help us to provide transparently the donations to those affected with the corona crisis.
