Raiwind forum is the largest promotive gathering in the Islamic world in which the ways of promoting Islam and Islamic values and making spiritual connections among Muslims.
Hundreds of thousands of Islamic promoters from Pakistan and the surrounding countries come together in the annual congregation, learn how to promote Islamic principles, and then are dispatched to different parts of the world, including Pakistan itself.
Daily Pakistan news agency says the number of people participating in this year's promotional gathering is over 400,000, and that the meeting which started on Thursday, will continue until Sunday, November 10.
Promoting a society free from violence and full of peace and solidarity, and familiarizing people with the Islamic lifestyle are considered the main goals of the missionary community.
Raiwind is located in Allama Iqbal Town of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The town serves as the headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat (Islamic promotion community) and hosts the annual Raiwind Center community.
