Tehran (IP) - Tehran Province has experienced 71 percent rise in rainfall since the current water year compared to the long-term mean, director of the Department of Water Operations at Iran Water Resources Management Company said.

Iran Press/Iran News: “Since the beginning of the current water year, precipitation in Tehran Province has increased to 376 millimeters," Vahid Asgarinejad said o Saturday.

He added that "During this period, 616 cubic millimeters of water flowed into dams across the Province."

Iran has a variable climate and its mean annual precipitation is 250mm.

Over the past 50 years, the average annual precipitation in the country has been reduced by more than 50 millimeters and the temperature has risen by more than two degrees Celsius. 101
