Iran Press/ Iran News: During the meeting on Sunday, the governor-general of Qom Bahram Sarmast announced the return of 802 Indian citizens to their country in five stages, saying: "The provincial management called for speeding up the return of remaining Indian citizens present in Qom."
He said: "With the spread of the disease, organizing Indian citizens in hotels in Qom and their quarantine process and treatment of patients was on the agenda."
The governor of Qom, referring to the discovery of the first cases of the Coronavirus in Qom, said: "By identifying the first symptoms of this disease, the officials of Qom province took special measures to protect the health of citizens and foreign nationals."
Speaking at the meeting, Indian Ambassador Gadam Dharmendra praised the services provided by Qom province to Indian citizens, the advanced medical facilities and the specialized medical staff of the Islamic Republic, saying: "India does not have such facilities to deal with COVID-19 disease."

The Indian ambassador emphasized the priority of the Indian government to return its citizens, adding: "We are looking to remove the burden of treating our citizens from Iran."
Praising the support of the province's management in hosting and treating Indian citizens in Qom province, he said: "We hope that with the end of this crisis, we will be able to renew relations with the Islamic Republic stronger than before.”
The Indian nationals were all present in Qom before the Coronavirus was discovered and they have been returned to their country in five stages. The rest were quarantined and treated in two locations to be returned as soon as possible.
According to Indian media reports, a group of 44 Indian pilgrims returned to India on March 13; 234 Indian (including 131 students and 55 pilgrims from Maharashtra) returned to India on March 15 followed by 53 Indians (including 52 students) who returned on March 16.
On March 18, 201 Indians returned and 277 Indians (including 273 pilgrims) returned on March 25.
Another batch of 275 Indian nationals (133 females and 142 males including 2 infants and 4 children) and including 223 pilgrims belonging to Ladakh returned on March 29.
