Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Acting Foreign Minister said that the Qatari FM in a telephone conversation late Thursday updated him on the latest developments of Doha-based Gaza Ceasefire talks.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani in a post on X said that Qatari Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in a phone conversation discussed the results of the first day of Gaza Ceasefire talks in Doha and told him that the situation of negotiation are sensitive and progress have been made.

"I emphasized the need for all-out diplomatic efforts and practical measures to stop the Zionist genocide in Gaza," Ali Bagheri Kani added.

On Thursday, Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesman, Majed al-Ansari after the end of the first day of negotiation said that the efforts of the mediators including Qatar, Egypt, and the US are ongoing to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and the meeting will resume on Friday.

Meanwhile, Qatar's Foreign Ministery in a statement shared Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani's discussion with his Iranian counterpart.

The statement said: "Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a phone call Thursday with Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Bagheri Kani.

The call discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and tools to support and develop them.

Discussions also dealt with the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, developments of the joint mediation efforts to end the war on the Strip, and the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, stressing the need for calm and de-escalation in the region."
