PESHAWAR, Pakistan (IP)- Demonstrators in Peshawar took to the streets on Thursday evening to protest financial links between a local KFC branch and Israel.

Iran Press/Asia: The protesters gathered outside the fast-food outlet, accusing it of supporting Israel financially.

Initially, the demonstrators blocked University Road, a prominent thoroughfare lined with various local and international businesses.

Chanting anti-Israel slogans, the crowd then proceeded to close down the KFC branch forcibly, physically locking the entrance. However, staff members were reportedly allowed to exit the premises safely.

Protesters vowed that other brands affiliated with Israel would face similar actions in the future, asserting that they would not permit any business dealings with entities supporting Israel.

Law enforcement eventually intervened to disperse the protesters, but there has been no official announcement regarding the reopening of the KFC branch. 204
