Iran Press/ Iran News: The MPs discussed the eligibility of Mohammad Zahedi-Vafa for the post of Ministry of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare in the open session of the parliament on Tuesday.
In the first round of counting, Zahedi-Vafa won the vote of confidence of the parliament with a slight difference of votes, and the votes were recounted due to the protest of some MPs.
Alireza Salimi, a member of the presiding board of the parliament, noted that Zahedi-Vafa did not win the vote of confidence of the parliament with a difference of one vote in the recount.
In the recount of the votes, Zahedi-Vafa won 136 votes in favor and 125 votes against, which, according to the speaker of the parliament, could not win the vote of confidence.
According to article 117 of the internal regulations of the parliament, the proposed minister must win the absolute majority of those present in the session, which Zahedi-Vafa failed to win the vote of confidence.
