Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking on the sidelines of the ceremony held on Tuesday to commemorate Matsuo Bashō, Japanese poet Abed Akbari stressed: "Iran has a strong power to develop relations with the countries of the world, which unites nations."
Akbari added that Iran-Japan cultural relations dated back to more than 1,300 years, saying: "This long-historical relationship has always been with respect and friendship."
"Iranians have always been interested in Japanese culture and civilization; to the same degree, the Japanese are interested in Iranian culture and civilization," noted Akbari.
"The implementation of cultural programs by the cultural attaché offices of Iran and Japan has led to the development of relations between the two countries," he underlined.
As the next keynote speaker via videoconferencing, Iran’s cultural attaché in Japan also stressed relations between the two countries.
Iran’s cultural attaché in Japan, Hossein Divsalar, added: "Implementation of cultural programs by Iran-Japan cultural attaches has led to the development of ties between the two countries."
He expressed hope that with the eradication of COVID-19, the two nations would interact more than ever with each other.
The commemorating ceremony of Matsuo Bashō, a Japanese poet, was held at IRIB on Tuesday with the attendance of Sumi Junichi, head of General affairs and Japan Information Center, and the cultural center of the Embassy of Japan in Iran, aimed at expanding cultural, social, and political ties.
