(IP)- The Iranian President said at the 15th BRICS Summit on August 24 that the benefits of Iran's membership in BRICS would be significant.

Iran PressAfrica: Ebrahim Raisi said there will be new steps toward the international expansion of justice, fairness, and ethics.

He added that Iran's membership in the BRICS group would facilitate the development based on justice.

President Raisi, elsewhere, appreciated South Africa hosting the BRICS Summit, pointing to South Africa's will to expand economic cooperation within the BRICS.

Raisi also referred to the African continent, stressing the continent's rich reservoirs, including rich cultural and ethnic diversity, natural landscapes, and rich mineral resources.

"An important part of the world's future is developing in this geographical area (Africa). I must respect Mr. Mandela and the African heroes who countered colonialism," said Iran's Raisi following his speeches at the 15th BRICS Summit hosted by Johannesburg.

"Hegemony, injustice, discrimination, and moral crisis have put the world in a complicated situation," enlisted Raisi as the ongoing crisis in the world, and suggested "efforts and convergence " as the solution for tackling the problems.

Iran's President left Tehran for South Africa's Johannesburg on Wednesday evening to take part in the 15th edition of the BRICS Summit.

Before his departure to South Africa on Wednesday evening, Ebrahim Raisi said in a presser that his visit was aimed at taking part in the BRICS Summit and declaring the foreign policy positions of the Islamic Republic.
