Tehran (IP) - The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran departed Tehran for Saudi Arabia to attend the emergency Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh on Saturday Morning.

Iran PressIran news: Saudi Arabia will host emergency meetings of the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to discuss the war and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

57 heads of state from Organisation of Islamic Cooperation countries will attend the summit.

President Raisi's trip to Saudi Arabia will mark the first visit by an Iranian head of state to Saudi Arabia since Tehran and Riyadh restarted political relations under a China-brokered deal in March.

On Thursday, the Arab League foreign ministers meeting condemned “the Israeli occupation and its aggression against the Gaza Strip” and demanded that the country “be held accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people.”

They also called for “an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians…and to provide all forms of support to Palestine and its people.”
