Iran Press/ Europe: The employees of different sections of the British public service including health, education, and rail transport, among others, have stopped working in protest of the unprecedented increase in living costs, low retirement pensions, lack of wages, and inappropriate working conditions.
The protest was triggered in London and some other cities of the country.
The British government's refusal to increase salaries mingled with the lack of job security are among the reasons that have shored up the motivations to stage the largest mass protest this year.
60,000 doctors and 70,000 university professors participated in the protest rally.
Here is a number of demonstrators expressing their views about the reasons for their protest in an interview with Iran Press News Agency.
