Iran Press/ Iran news: At the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Shah Mahmoud Qureshi left for a two-day trip to Moscow a few hours ago.
During his visit, Qureshi is scheduled to meet with the Russian Foreign Minister, attend a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member states, and meet with some of his counterparts in the region.
Pakistan served as an observer member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization from 2005 to 2017 and then became a permanent member in 2017.
The Moscow summit is also expected to consider more than 20 documents to be approved at the forthcoming SCO summit, and a joint statement will be issued by the participating countries that reflects the members' common positions on regional and global developments.
Pakistan, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and India are the main members, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mongolia, Afghanistan, and Belarus are observer members.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers' Summit will be hosted by Moscow in the next two days (September 9th and 10th) with the agenda of dialogue and review of regional issues and cooperation in the fight against the Coronavirus.
