Tehran (IP) - Iran's President said that personal care and observing the health protocols, and smart social distancing are necessary to contain the virus, adding that no one can tell when the COVD-19 crisis will come to an end.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the session of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus on Sunday, Hassan Rouhani said: "We can't say when the corona will end, if it was, it would be very good."

"If the country's health authorities could say that coronavirus will be finished within a month or two and give us the exact time, we would be able to plan economically and socially more easily," he added.

"Unfortunately, there is no clear time for this, because there is no specific drug or vaccine for this disease, and in a sense, it is almost always up to the people themselves," the President stated.

The President highlighted: "When we are facing health problems and a dangerous disease called coronavirus, the only way is to take care of ourselves, observing the distancing and following the health, protocols and go to the hospital if we have to."

He emphasized the need to focus on smart social distancing and said the resumption of the work of business does not necessarily mean the end of COVID-19, nor it means it is going to be stopped.

Country to be divided into white, yellow, red zones based on coronavirus outbreak

Rouhani stated that as approved by the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, the country will be divided into three zones of white, yellow and red based on the spread of coronavirus, and the protocols by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education will be implemented along with the restrictions and regulations for fighting coronavirus.

"Until the time a region remains white, which is over 100 counties and the names of which will be announced, new conditions will be set in them, and the religious places will be reopened and congregational prayers will be held,” said the President.

More than 190,000 people have died from the coronavirus globally, and case totals have reached over 2.7 million, as of Friday 24 April.

In Iran, 89,328 people have been infected with the virus, 5,650 people have died and 68,193 of total infected people have recovered.
