Iran Press/Middle East: Chairman of Bahrain Human Rights Council, Bagher Darvish said in a press conference on Wednesday that 791 cases of torture and ill-treatment in the country's prisons have been documented since 2011.
Al Khalifa's regime has resorted to drastic measures such as torture to curb dissenting opinions and suppressed a peaceful protest movement, Darvish added according to Iran Press.
He also said that the Bahraini government prevents the prosecution of those who have committed these crimes against detained protesters.
Thousands of anti-regime protesters have held demonstrations in Bahrain on an almost daily basis ever since a popular uprising began in the country in mid-February 2011.
