Iran Press/ Iran News: The social networks have been filtered in Iran, Tehran in particular, to mitigate the spread of the unrest that broken out recently under the pretext of a 22-year-old girl's death, Mahsa Amini, who died out of a heart attack at a police center in Tehran.
On the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday, September 28, Isa Zarepour told the reporters that those platforms the access to, which was limited, played a crucial role in organizing the riots in the country.
"The restricted platforms turned in to a facilitative tool for the rioters," Zarepour added.
He stressed that the competent departments decided to filter the social network platforms, and they should announce when the apps will be reopened.
Still, the ICT minister said that the grounds would be prepared for the national platform to provide the people with services so that their business would not be hindered.
The rioters guided by the opposition groups outside Iran are destroying the public properties of the Iranian nation, injuring police officers, and even attacking the hospitals' vehicles, the ambulances.
The rioters even desecrated the Islamic sanctities, including the Holy Quran; they burnt Quran, set fire to the martyrs' pictures, and insulted Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
