Kano (IP): "We are against proxy war," said protesters in Nigeria.

Iran PressAfrica: In Nigeria, hundreds of people in Kano State on Monday morning have joined procession of anti ECOWAS' war against Republic of Niger, expressing their opposite stance on the decision of Economic Community of West African States:

We condemn ECOWAS' war on Niger. The war will be done on behalf of America. It is a war on behalf of France. We cannot wage proxy war. No to proxy war. France has supported more than twenty coups in Africa.  France and America are exploiters."

They must leave our resources. France must leave our uranium," said the protesters.

After trekking in the major streets of Kano city, center of Northern Nigeria's states, the protesters set France's flag ablaze.

Since the occurrence of coup d'état and took over power by military in Niger on 26 July 2023, masses in both Niger and its neighbor Nigeria continue to hold anti France and American protests.

France deployed at least 1500 soldiers in Niger, mainly at the Niamey air base while the United States deployed 1000 troops, stationed near Agadez, the fifth largest city in Niger.
