Iran Press/ Middle East: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made the remarks in an address to the mass crowd commemorating the martyrdom of the leaders Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.
"The American scheme in the region is that of hegemony, control, and domination, and “Israel” lies at the heart of this project," he said.
Sayyed Nasrallah went on to say that "the US scheme in our region was build on invading and occupying several countries (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Libya and Sudan) in the era of the Bush administration."
"The core of connection within the axis of Resistance regarding morality, spirit, blood, mind and strength was resembled by Hajj Qasem," he noted.
He added that Hajj Qasem was the soldier of the Welayya [guardianship].
Sayyed Nasrallah said 20 years ago, when Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani entered the region leading Al-Quds Force, he had piety, braveness, and cleverness, and his relation with Imam Khamenei and the Islamic Republic added to his nationalism.
"At that time, Hajj Qasem set foot in the frontlines as a leader; Iran stood firm, and Syria, too, leaving the enemy with a dilemma in the July war," he said, adding: "Attempts began to strike the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon in 2006, and the objective was to invade and impose multinational forces at the airport, ports, and borders."
"9/11 served as an impetus to the American plan to enter Afghanistan and Iraq and get closer to Iran and Syria," the cleric said.
"The first version of the American scheme in the region, which was confronted by martyr Suleimani and other leaders, is the “New Middle East” project in Lebanon and Palestine," noted Nasrallah.
"Hajj Qasem faced, throughout two decades, two versions of the American scheme in the region. He was able, through his brainpower, planning, constant presence, and sincerity, to link the forces of the resistance axis, strengthen them and provide them with material and intellectual support through meetings and direct presence on the front lines," he highlighted.
