Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance says the meetings of religious entities must lead to peace and empathy between the Muslims and Christians.

Iran PressIran News: Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili said on the sidelines of the cabinet's weekly session on Wednesday that the meetings of Islamic and Christian entities must lead to peace among the followers of the religions, especially at a time when the Western states are waging Islamophobia in the countries. 

The Director of Iran's Seminaries, Ayatollah Alireza A'rafi, met with Pope Francis, the world's Catholic leader, at the Vatican on Tuesday to expand interaction with the Vatican.

Ayatollah  A'rafi was received warmly by the Pop of the Vatican and stressed the intellectual capacities of Islam, Shia, and seminaries for interaction between the divine religions to solve human intellectual, cultural and social challenges.

In an interview with Iran Press, the minister of culture called on the Vatican to act based on its historical duty and represent a clear image of Islam's sublime attitude to the world. 

Esmaili appreciated Ayatollah A'rafi's initiative of visiting Pop Francis and emphasize holding such meetings between religious entities.
