A top Russian military commander in Syria said on Saturday that more than 20,000 "Jabhat al-Nusra" terrorists are present in northern Syria's Idlib province, voicing concern over the movements of terrorists.

Iran Press/ Middle East: General Yuri Borenkov, head of Russia's Center for Reconciliation in Syria, said terrorists are targeting residential areas and Syrian army headquarters in Idlib every day.

He added the terrorists targeted 66 areas in Idlib province on Friday.

The province of Adlib is the last base of terrorists in Syria.

Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since March 2011. The Syrian government says the Israeli regime and its Western and regional allies are aiding Takfiri terrorist groups wreaking havoc in the country.

On September 06, 2018, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the US behavior towards Idlib indicates that it wants to protect Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist outfit.

In an interview with Russian 1 TV Channel, Lavrov affirmed that the de-escalation zone in Idlib province is the only zone in which tens of thousands of terrorists are positioned led by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization.
