Malaysia reported another 4,239 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Sunday, bringing the national total to 2,623,816, according to the health ministry.

Iran PressAsia: Some 12 of the new cases are imported, with 4,227 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry's website showed.

According to Xinhua News Agency, another 29 more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 30,309.

About 5,007 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 2,527,052.

There are some 66,455 active cases, 511 are being held in intensive care and 261 of those are in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 42,010 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered on Sunday alone and some 79.1 percent of the population have received at least one dose and 77.7 percent are fully vaccinated.
