Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Border Guard Brigadier General Qasem Rezaei

Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Border Guard said the country seeks to maintain regional security and friendship with neighboring countries.

Ira Press/Iran News: Visiting Iranian naval bases in the Persian Gulf and Kish island, Brigadier General Qasem Rezaei said, "The United States strives to secure its interests in the region by creating insecurity and fear."

Noting that the Persian Gulf is not a war zone, General Rezaei said the region would certainly be calm without the presence of warships.

He reiterated that residents of the Persian Gulf region have historically relied on shared culture and history in the light of the collective security of peaceful living and commerce, while trans-regional powers have undermined that peace and security.

"The presence of trans-regional fleets in the Persian Gulf undermines the security and peace, and aims at looting oil resources", the top commander stated.

Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Border Guard noted Iran has prioritized the strengthening of border diplomacy, especially with neighboring countries, adding that Iran Border Guard Command is proud to have a defined, active and effective policy in the field of border diplomacy.
