Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking on Tuesday at the meeting of Supreme Council for Economic Coordination, Hassan Rouhani stated that the council was formed after the withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the imposition of oppressive sanctions against the Iranian nation and economic war.
He said: "In the meeting, the Leader of the Revolution stressed the need for readiness and coordination of all bodies for confronting the enemy's economic war, stating that the commander of this war should be the president and other branches should work alongside the government.”
Stating that the Supreme Council for Economic Coordination was formed to make special decisions in special economic conditions, Rouhani said: "Accordingly, it was decided that decisions that require coordination between branches be binding for everyone after the approval of the Leader of the Revolution."
Referring to the important decisions made in the meeting during the last two years, the President said, "So far, with all the existing problems, we have been able to overcome the problems with coordination and empathy, and in the coming year, the three branches can make effective decisions for the prosperity of the country's economy.”
Rouhani stressed that today, due to sanctions and the spread of coronavirus, the country is in difficult economic conditions, adding, "Despite all the problems we face in various sectors, including import, export, oil sales, and foreign exchange, the government is determined to work hard to solve the problems and improve people’s difficult living conditions until the last moment of its service.”
The President thanked the Leader for the wise statements that outlined the roadmap for the three branches’ cooperation and synergy and expressed hope that the officials of the three branches could advance the country in the best possible way with empathy, coordination, and appropriate decisions to reduce people's problems and improve their livelihoods.
Rouhani went on to say that the Americans expected Iran's economic development to stop shortly after the sanctions began, adding that today the country is ruled through planning and relying on an oil-free economy adding that this is a demonstration of strength and a great victory for the Iranian nation in the economic war.
Referring to the effects of the Coronavirus on the current state of the world economy, Rouhani said that Iran, in a situation where even some developed countries had been difficulty in meeting the daily needs of the people, has also passed through this space with special measures and readiness of structures and machineries through people's cooperation.
