Iran Press/Iran news: State and military officials were present in the meeting held at the mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic, late Imam Khomeini on Thursday.
After a long battle with disease, Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi died at the age of 70 on Monday night (24 December), Iran Press reported.
Shahroudi was born in Najaf, Iraq, in 1948 and had served as a member of the Guardian Council since 1994. He was also judiciary chief and member of Experts Council. As of 2017, he was also the chairman of the Expediency Council. 105
