Tehran(IP) - The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has stated that elections prevent dictatorship, chaos, and insecurity.

Iran PressIran news:  Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with the people of Kerman and Khuzestan provinces in Imam Khomeini's Hosseiniyeh held on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt.Gen Qasem Soleimani emphasized, "Elections will prevent dictatorship, chaos and insecurity."

The Leader noted: "The principle of the logic of holding elections in the Islamic Republic of Iran should be clarified as to why we are holding elections. I would like to say that the two words "Republic" and "Islamic" are both related to elections. Republic means democracy namely the rule of the country by the people. How can people participate in governance, there is no other way except elections."

Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that some people make problems about the necessity of elections, and discourage the people. They do not pay attention to the fact that if there are no elections in the country, it is either a dictatorship, chaos, or insecurity. What prevents the emergence of a dictatorship in the country is the elections. Elections prevent chaos and unrest and insecurity.

The Leader stated: "Elections are the right path through which people can secure national sovereignty, democracy and republicanism in the country."

Emphasizing that elections are the basis of transformation, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "Discouraging people from elections is detrimental to the country. The solution to the country's problems is elections."

The Leader stated that today no one in the world makes a difference between the Israeli regime and the US and UK, and stressed: "The US shamelessly vetoes the Security Council resolution for a ceasefire. Western civilization has been unmasked."

He emphasized: "The great victory of the Palestinian nation is that they discredited the West and the US and their false claims of supporting human rights."
