Tehran (IP) - Some of Iran's lawmakers expressed their opposition and approval to the proposed Minister of Islamic Culture and Guidance, Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili.

Iran PressIran news: Ebrahim Raisi introduced Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili for Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance to the Parliament for a vote of confidence.

Opponents: Ali Asghar Khani, the representative of Shahrood, said the proposed Minister of Islamic Culture and Guidance lacked enough executive backgrounds in culture.

Ali Yazdikhah, the representative of Tehran's people, said the proposed minister has no discipline. 

Proponents:  Reza Taghavi, from Tehran, said that the proposed minister of culture was a freethinker figure who believed in participation in the culture's arena and enjoyed an inherent orientation toward culture.

Effat Sharifi Koohbanani, a representative from Zarand's people, said that organizing the status quo of the country's cultural management was one of the challenges appropriately identified by the proposed minister Esmaili and that he had due plans for that.

The sessions of Iran's Parliament for the vote of confidence to the President Raisi's cabinet began on Saturday with his speech defending his administration's plans and suggested cabinet.

By the speech of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament, the procedure kicked off and will continue to the end of the vote of confidence.
