Iran Press/ Iran news: As part of his work program in Iran, the Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Sacha Llorenti, met with Reza Nazar Ahari, the Director General of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for American Affairs.
"We are committed to strengthening ALBA relations with Iran," Llorenti wrote on his Twitter account.
In a recent statement to Hispan TV, the foreign secretary of ALBA stressed the commitment of the Latin American-Caribbean alliance to strengthen cooperation with Iran, saying: "Beyond the bilateral relations between Iran and the member states of the Union, there is enormous coordination on how we perceive the world."
ALBA, founded initially by Cuba and Venezuela in 2004, has grown to include eleven full member states which are Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Dominica, Ecuador, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Grenada and the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
