Shiraz (IP) – Khan School in Shiraz of Fars Province, southern Iran, is among the historical sites in Iran which narrates a 450-year record of knowledge in Iran.

Iran PressIran news: Established in 1595 in the Ishaq Beg quarter of Shiraz, Khan School has about 100 rooms and has been registered in the list of the national historical heritage of Iran.

The school was supposed to be a place for teaching religious knowledge by the order of Allahverdikhan, the Governor of Fars Province in the Safavid dynasty, to bring up scholars and scientists.

Wisdom, Islamic jurisprudence, literature, astronomy, arithmetic, geometry, geology, zoology, botany, and chemistry were taught in the historical school.

The great Iranian philosopher was invited to the school to teach. 

A two-floor complex, Khan School has 8,000 square meters of area and a great garden-like yard was one of the biggest and most beautiful schools in its era. 

The site enjoys Iranian architecture and is one of the touristic sites of Shiraz in Fars Province. 204
